  3. Recently I've been allowing myself to be more openly neuroatypical. I stopped aligning with people who know nothing on the subject and perpetuate stereotypes about mental illnesses, I started paying attention to my word aversion and preferences (even made a list of very pleasant words), I let myself touch appealing textures with no fear that it'll be seen as childish. It didn't make me more efficient, but it brought relief. And it helped me survive this half a year. I feel positive about this.

  4. I absolutely love Howl's drawing of Pedophilia. It looks like it has short soft fur, my favorite texture. It's going to be one of the images I return to for comfort.

  5. My view on the MAP flag
In the past, I opposed of the MAP flag as I viewed it as being "proud" of the attraction. However, after a while it grew on me.
What really changed it was the fact that there are SO many things that use flags as a symbol. Yes, there's flags for people in the LBGT community, but there's also countries
and organizations that do the same thing. Flags aren't limited to accepted sexual identities.

Another thing that allowed me to appreciate the MAP flag (other than the pastel colors) was the meaning behind the white line in the middle, which represents our innocence and unwillingness to offend.
If the flag didn't showcase some sort of representation of that, then I would still detest it.

  6. Saying "goodbye" to old servers is always hard. You have so many memories, good and bad, connected to that one place, old conversations, people who are gone. But as long as you have a new space to live in, it's going to be ok.

  8. Rant (TW child abuse): Some people need to evaluate how they normally act toward children and how they see child care in order to properly dictate whether or not they should be a parent.

I say this because I saw a video on Twitter showing someone trying to feed a baby, when they didn't eat, the person took a stuffed toy and violently punched it to scare the child into eating. This is emotional abuse.
But the person who posted the video thought it was funny, and that's incredibly disturbing. There's a concerning amount of parents who think emotional/psychological child abuse "doesn't count" or "doesn't exist",
yet have the AUDACITY to wonder why their children have mental issues.

For a society that abhors CSA and physical abuse (which is 100% understandable), it seems to be disturbingly accepting of child abuse that's not technically "hands on". Thankfully, that's changing and more people are understanding that child abuse isn't clean cut to one or two things. If you want to be a parent, educate yourself on child care, and analyze your behavior. Doing so could save a potential child's life from mental scarring.

  10. Just saw a woman make a joke post that said "If I see a girl, I kiss her". And many bloggers reblogging it, tagging it as "wlw culture", etc. And I can't help wondering how different it would look if a man was to make such a post. He'd be accused of preying on women, sexually harassing them, even if he'd say it's just a joke. I'm not saying the OP in this particular case is a predator, but she's definitely making light of rather inappropriate actions. But there was another case, where a lesbian was predatory, she found a photo of an attractive women from Pride and made her Instagram followers search for her, and it was seen as romantic rather than creepy. Why does the society let women get away with preying on other women? Some can blame pseudo progressivism of the liberals, but I think the true cause of it lies within the traditionalist perception of women as weaker and purer, of fights between women and female abusers being a matter of jokes. But whatever the cause is, creepy and objectifying attitude to women shouldn't be a part of wlw culture. Or any culture.

Map: I believe in freedom of thought. As long as you're not hurting anyone, you're a good person, and it doesn't matter what you're fantasizing about.
Tumblr pro shipper: Yes! Antis will never get my adult/minor ships!
Map: that's why I accept myself as a map and live a non offending life.

  13. Going on with Lecter's views on radicalized anti-c's. I think a lot of it comes from something called internalized pedophobia (fear of children), and a lot of MAPs suffer from it without even realizing it.
What this pedophobia does is that it causes you to stay away from children, because you feel as if you're a potential danger to children. This negatively affects a MAP's mental state and their views on how children should
    be treated.

It's part of why I think therapy is SO important to MAPs, because a proper psychologist can help them address it, which will be better in the long run. As someone who used to dissolve in their own internalized
pedophobia, it's sad that so many Twitter MAPs/antis see it as a "virtue".

  14. I want to address the old controversy in the map community - the pro contact vs anti contact discourse. When (and where) I first joined, the line was pretty clear - you are anti contact if you oppose sexual relationships between adults and people below 16, and cp. Some people rose the age limit to 18, it was also the version of the norm. This is the definition I and a few other 2017 Tumblr discourse "survivors" use up to date. I was unaware that there were some problems with it, but several months ago I was introduced to the concept of people who for this or that reason do not identify as either. It seemed valid in terms of that sometimes you haven't yet formed an opinion and don't want to align yourself and get into drama too soon. But it brought other problems. Apparently some of the radicals of the anti c community made an attempt to claim the whole of the anti c label for themselves and brand everyone who didn't fit in as pro c. Their new definition included 18 as an unquestionable number, refusal to talk about any nsfw topics with minors, denial that a small portion of children does get out of relationships with adults unharmed, respect towards laws in any situation and several other quite far gone statements. A few people, anti cs at heart, were pushed to taking neutral or pro c label upon themselves. My close friend, formerly an anti c ideologue, became a label abolitionist. He believes that these labels do nothing but taint the community and turn them onto each other, and I do see some harmful impact, but I do believe it's essential to keep them. First of all, I'd like to know where my new acquaintances stand on consent and children, as I do not align with those who believe sexual contact with children is morally ok. My friend believes I could just ask everyone about their position individually, and this is a valid point, but here's something else to keep in mind. If we abandon this label, radicals will keep it. And they will take full use out of it. "Anti contact map" is already a broadcast identity. People come to those who ID like that and ask whether they really are against abuse, and are ready for a conversation. I don't want to leave these people onto someone who believes in reporting on minors who take nudes to FBI and thinks a 40 yo with a 20 yo is creepy. Plus they will use every opportunity to uplift themselves on expense of everyone they deem impure. If we let them have these labels because we are "too good" for them, in 10 years we'll see them together with the non map society shoving everyone else down. Like some cis gays and lesbians do with trans people. I want to push back till it's too late, I want to restore the old meaning of the words "anti contact". It's still possible.

  16. Clown used as an insult makes me want to try myself as an actual clown. I'll probably fail, because I'm naturally slow and speed up my movements and speaking manner only when stressed out, I have little to no acting talent, and I'm not prone to entertaining people, but I still want that experience.

  17. I never understood why social interaction, household chores, etc, are referred to as "adult things". The ability to efficiently communicate with people and handle monotonous tasks has to do with one's personality type, mental health state, but not with calendar age or even level of individual maturity. Linking them to adulthood has a set of harmful consequences, such as teenagers being avoidant even of things they can perform with minimal effort and adults feeling infantilized when they fail at such tasks.

Side note, if I hear @HowlPendragon yet again talking about how he has to do "boring adult stuff", I'll snap, because it's cleaning and paperwork, it's age neutral.

  18. I have an interesting theory about Minor attracted individuals (including myself). Cute aesthetics are a large part of "MAP culture", when you think about it, it's easy to see why.
As pedophiles, we're naturally drawn toward youthful features, a big aspect of it being cuteness. A "symptom" of our attraction is that many of us have stronger protective/parental instincts, and when we see something
that sets off those emotions (whether it's a child or not), it causes a stronger reaction for us than it would for teleiophilic individuals. Although we don't feel sexual attraction towards everything that could be considered
"cute", we're still more drawn to those aesthetics.
