I never understood why social interaction, household chores, etc, are referred to as "adult things". The ability to efficiently communicate with people and handle monotonous tasks has to do with one's personality type, mental health state, but not with calendar age or even level of individual maturity. Linking them to adulthood has a set of harmful consequences, such as teenagers being avoidant even of things they can perform with minimal effort and adults feeling infantilized when they fail at such tasks.

Side note, if I hear @HowlPendragon yet again talking about how he has to do "boring adult stuff", I'll snap, because it's cleaning and paperwork, it's age neutral.
